I get a huge sense of satisfaction out of making people’s lives a little bit easier. If I can do that by celebrating what they’re already doing well and helping them to build on it, that’s even better.

That’s why I enjoy writing practical, approachable content that gives people knowledge they can start putting into practice right away. There’s nothing more frustrating than someone telling you something is a great idea and then not giving you any guidance on how to do it.

I’m also a behavioural science nerd. I love learning about the cognitive biases and instinctive thought patterns that shape the way we interact with the world and each other. Finding ways we can work with and against them to achieve our goals gets me far more excited than it probably should.

I have both a BA and MA in writing from the University of Warwick. I’ve also completed several copy and content qualifications, including a level 4 diploma in copywriting and a content marketing certification from HubSpot.

And I’m still learning – I spend at least an hour of my working day seeking out new expert insights into soft skills, L&D (learning and development) and writing.

In my free time, I write fiction and indulge in good food, long walks, and even longer books. I also volunteer for several non-profits that help people get in touch with their creativity.
